A Tribute to Womanhood

Welcome to "I Am Woman"...a tribute to all those women who had the courage and perseverance to stand up and fight for their rights. Thanks to those who came before us we enjoy a freedom unknown to women not too long ago. But, sadly, in many parts of the world, women continue to be repressed. In fact, even in this country there are women living today under the threat of violence...completely controlled by a violent spouse. Some may make it; others won't. Hopefully, one day ALL women will be free. May that day come soon.

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, “I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along… You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”

  1. I adore Eleanor Roosevelt! I have many books and documentaries on this elegant and caring First Lady of our country from 1933 to 1945.

  2. Dear mxtodis, you stopped by my blog a couple of weeks ago and left a comment; today, I'm returning the favor. I scrolled through your postings and I so appreciate them. Eleanor Roosevelt has always been a hero to me. She helped change the course of history and her actions paved the way for Women's Lib. Thank you for this inspiring quotation. Peace.

  3. Being woman is really special in this world my friend!

You got more than half responsibility to not only create your own world but survive through all tough times given by opposite gender or life.
