I got flowers today. It wasn't my birthday or any other special day. We had our first argument last night, and he said a lot of cruel things that really hurt me. I know he is sorry and didn't mean the things he said, because he sent me flowers today.
I got flowers today. It wasn't our anniversary or any other special day. Last night he threw me into a wall and started to choke me. It seemed like a nightmare. I couldn't believe it was real. I woke this morning sore and bruised all over. I know he must be sorry because he sent me flowers.

How will I take care of my kids? What about money? I am afraid of him and scared to leave. But I know he must be sorry because he sent me flowers today.

No, I had not read that before. You my angel are being the handmaiden and delivering something to me today that I needed so desperately for my daughter. This has such power. I want you to know I will post this take a stand button as soon as the "ugly" in my loved ones life is behind bars. Otherwise, I would be putting them in harms way by doing so. I have posted on my blogs about some of my grands issues and because he reads them, he is snarling and spitting and on the verge but social services is at this moment preparing a case against him.

I've never read this before but it is very powerful. It makes me sad that woman are still being abused physically or emotionally.
ReplyDeleteI remember loving Helen Reddy when I was young. Wow, whatever happened to her. Remember Lily Tomilin as "Edith Ann" singing this song? It was fantastic. I used to volunteer at a shelter and wish I had this back then. Thank you.
